Cafe Catchup

Its been over a week since I started my new job. I've been basically learning their way of running their venue.  The hardest part is not the recipes or understanding the register, but remembering the 'client's' names.  Its company courtesy, and its a big challenge!  I need to know their last names too, in order to ring up orders conveniently. 

I've also been more trouble than I expected.  I cut my finger with a big 'ol knife while trying to cut up a fresh avocado on day 3, asked for a couple days off work to go to AZ in September [to see my seeeester], got sick at work today, and one day left the kitchen multiple times because Adam couldn't handle daycare.  I hope my positives are shining more than my annoyances!

Good news is I am not the newest employee anymore.  The newest lady is in her mid to late 40s.  Her name is Iris and she is from Panama.  I have practiced Spanish with her once and she understood me :) All I said was that I have a son, he is 11 months, and his birthday is on August 6th.

Alrightly, its late.  I start work in less than 8 hours.  g'nite.

Moving on

It has been awhile, but I wanted to announce that today was officially my LAST day ay TCBY! I could not be more happy. It is time to move on, and most likely a change that is well overdue. Monday I start a new job in food service for an athletic club. It is a full-time position, and includes a free membership, childcare, and some other insurance stuff I am not quite qualified for yet. I also got a smart phone today, so hopefully I will have more convenience for posting entries from now on. I hope the battery life remains this great. Ok, that is all for now!
