Sleep
All Adam and I did yesterday was sleep! He is doing just fine. We went to mass together and then took a few naps before he decided to sleep from 7pm-8am. I am excited to return to my old job, that fact that more friends are coming home!

City Scene
Just got back in town! Yesterday was pretty nice. I called my old boss in the morning and got my high school job back. I'm glad to be doing something, but I still wish I got a phone call back from the hospital. I put the final touches on organizing my room, and even got to go out in Chicago with some Ultimate friends. I have to admit, get-togethers are on a whole different level once you are out of college. Topics of discussion included insurance, marriage, and jobs! Oh my!
The weather was hot in the morning so I decided not to run. I spent a good amount of the day picking out what to wear in Chicago, just to find out the weather dropped 30 degrees! It wasn't too bad, there's been Ultimate tournaments with much, much, much worse weather.

Mommy Break
There was an issue with the site last night so I couldn't post at my usual time. Trevor took Adam with him yesterday evening, so I have some 'free time' till Sunday. Trevor brought a crib over too, but we're waiting to see which room we're going to put it in... and if I am changing rooms too. After all this organizing and cleaning I don't know if I could do it all over again!
Yesterday I had a lot of fun going to the library with Adam and my friend Amanda. His face lit up when he saw a 2 year old boy, but I don't know how much he really appreciated that boy taking a toy out of his hand a few minutes later! After that, we met Trevor at Fair Game in Downtown Downers Grove and spent an hour playing games with Reynolds.
I am going to call my old job today and see if they'll take me back while I look for something else in the hospital. Now's my time to job search, get my stuff put away, and fix the resume before going into the city tonight!

Long term goal--Acheived!
No update on the job search. Part of me feels like I'm going to get called back soon and everything will go from there. I'm aware that's wishful thinking! My resume needs a fix, and my plan is to get to that next. The good news of the day is that I achieved my goal GPA for college :) Yippie!
Today was more of time to relax and have fun. I woke up with the worst headache, and luckily Adam was in a napping mood so we took a couple of long naps. After my hour long (much needed !) chat with Aly, my sister called and highly suggested I do not run a 10 miler before Sunday just because my body would not have enough time to recover. If I was going to train, I should have put those 10 miles in 2 weeks ago. Hopefully I won't regret this race!
Ultimate was fun tonight. I drove around unnecessarily thinking I was 'almost there' at every turn since I had missed an important one off the high way. Drove 26 miles there, and only 12 miles home (HA!) Eventually found my way, met some old friends and made some new ones. I swear there were at least 10 people that stuck around and sat in/around the bed of the pickup for a hour or so in a McDonald's parking lot. Good times, can't wait for the other lazy days of summer that I can spare until the working life settles in.
P.S. Thanks for the advice, I'm listening!

Endurance
This was on the TV this morning:
My phone has been glued to my side since I made that phone call yesterday. I'm unsure how long I should wait until moving on to another prospect. My dad said that his doctor is willing to talk to someone for me at that hospital if I don't hear back in a couple of weeks. In the mean time, I think I am going to ask to go back to my high school job, I need to save up money!
There's a 'road to success' book that I'm reading that says not to wait around, but apply to a bunch of places and see what turns up. The thing is, I REALLY want to work at this hospital because its close and its in my community. Maybe I should have made that point when I left a message yesterday :/
Running this morning was a fail. I ran to a park and then walked back because I was so hot. Tonight, I tried again and banged out a 4.25 mile run, but when I stopped I felt like my body was on fire. It took awhile to cool down. The night run had a series of interesting smells. In one block it went from flowers to really buttery to smelling like a dusty horse stable. When I got back, I did some abs until I felt really awkward from all the cars driving by.
The boyfriend (shout out to Trevor!!! :DDDD) [haha] is suggesting that I run a 10 miler before the 13.1 mile race on Sunday. Luckily, I know a 10 mile scenic route, but I have only completed that bad boy once and it took 83 minutes when I was in good shape. In any case, I'm thinking of doing that long one on Friday morning really early if anyone else is interested in feeling really uncomfortable! Yay running! Don't be fooled by my sarcasm, I really love it!!

Baby steps
I called my hospital contact this afternoon! Hopefully I said what I wanted to in the best way possible. A bonus is that she sounded like a really nice person on the voicemail, so I'm hoping to hear back soon even if I just get advice on what else I could do. I'm mostly nervous because I have not revised my resume recently, and if she calls back, she may ask for a copy!! Luckily, I've got people to count on to help get it right.
This morning I went for a run in an attempt to shape up for my half marathon on Sunday. I ran about 3.2 miles in under 30 minutes, not half bad. Although, my halfway point was a thrift-store and I stopped in there to look around for a good 15 minutes. If I need cheap invites for Adam's first birthday, I know where to go!
Summer plans are starting to shape up already and I'm getting really excited about that. It looks like a zoo trip is going to happen at the end of the month with some of my ISU girls! Summer Ultimate is also shining its awesome light down on these next few months. There's things to look forward to, and I want to do it all!

First day away from ISU
So after all that, I'm back to where I started: Mom & Dad's
I moved all my furniture around and cleaned... a lot. I got a chance to go outside with Adam for a little bit and say hi to the neighbors, and unfortunately a few hornets. I think we've got a nest in our shed :(
I got a few cards, gifts, and calls from family and friends for Mother's Day & Graduation. I was trying to squeeze in a run today since I am supposed to run my first half marathon Sunday May 15th. That's in less than a week! Yikes.
Tomorrow I am going to call a dietitian to see if I can help her out with ANYTHING. I just need to get paid in experience because there's not a chance in the real world without it! I also have to work on networking--starting from who I know and seeing where that takes me! Luckily, there's a good amount of hospitals in the area if this first call doesn't get me anything. Worst case scenario, I'll go back to my high school job. $8.50 an hour is better than nothing, right?
Lastly, I juggled for Adam tonight and he seemed to like it, but then this happened:
